Football on Television

Saturday, while doing Honey-Do's and watching several different football games, some of them my favorite teams,  I got to thinking about things, and remembered that back in the 50's, CBS had the contract for the Collegiate game of the week.  and also for the NFL game on Sunday.  There was no AFL.

Now, that don't sound like much news, but just think.  The college game on Saturday was the only game on television, (because of  unnecessary college rules) and it was not necessarily a game that you wanted to watch. Most often a couple of teams from the big 10 or the west coast.  And again on Sunday, only one game to watch.

Boy, has the times changed.  Now it seems that your favorite college team is on every Saturday, and your favorite Pro team is on every Sunday.

Now for my opinion, I'm glad they got rid of those rules, and I would like to see a lot more rules changed or eliminated.

Father's Day

I hope every Father has a great day today.  I will, since I have already heard from my two children that were not lucky enough to be home with me today, and my other daughter from Colorado Springs, CO is here with me and has told me she wants to take me to Tuscaloosa, AL today to see the storm damage.  Also, in the house today, are two of my great grandchildren, Shaelyn and Weston Reese.

Maybe I can take a few shots of some of the damage to post on RedGage which will be my first post to that web site.

Happy Father's Day to all.

We saw this couple standing on a rock looking out on the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Maine a few years ago.  They seamed like a very nice couple maybe from the South.  We didn't get thier names,  so we can't name the photo.

I took this photo yesterday at the Huntsville, AL Botanacal Gardens. This was quite a site to see as things were blooming everywhere.  To bad that I was not able to walk the whole tour but my knees and breath both gave out on me about the time we were 15% into the tour. My Son got a wheel chair and pushed me awhile, but that was too much to ask.  Hope to go back when they turn the Butterflies loose, which will be sometime in May.

A couple of years ago, a swarm of honey bee's attacked our house.  They first started entering through a crack in the bricks where the gas line went into the house.  We sure didn't want a stache of soured honey smelling up the place, so we got on the phone trying to find someone that could move the swarm out.  No luck. So, we bought a few cans of foam and started sealing up everyplace we could and I think we may have caught the queen on the hive early enough that the workers could not get in to store the honey.  However, they did try the best they could to get to her and first started swarming inside the attic by going through the attic vent.  We carried some pesticide up there and sprayed which made them swarm in a small group on the side of the house right outside the vent.  From there we sprayed them and I thought we had killed them all until I started to make a picture of the Magnolia bloom when the last bee flew between my camera and the blossom. I guess its still out there somewhere.
